Group Classes at Oregon Society of Artists (Oregon School of Arts)
Sargent, Homer & Moran: Watercolor Methods
Fridays, November 7 - 21, 2025 (3 sessions) - 1:00 – 4:00 PM
Chas Martin learned watercolor by studying the techniques of three masters: John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer and Thomas Moran. In each 3-hour session, Martin will discuss the techniques of one painter in detail. Through the demonstration he will copy one painting from start to finish. Then he will instruct participants step-by-step to copy another of that painter’s works.
Chas will also share his method for quickly and accurately drawing the image so you can focus on the painting techniques.

The Secret Society of Superpowers: A Sculpture Workshop for Kids
Saturdays and Sundays, December 6 - 13, 2025 (3 sessions) - 1:00 - 4:00pm
Choose your unique superpower! Then create a sculpture that brings it to life. As your character takes shape, we will listen and see if there are any secrets. Using basic techniques and materials, Chas Martin helps you create a character using dynamic gestures to communicate your unique strength. Sculptures will be constructed as wire armatures covered with a papier mâché/plaster skin and finished with acrylic paint.
